White-faced Ibis expanding north

White-faced Ibis nest in colonies of dozens to hundreds of birds that build nests in trees or shrubs that are typically growing in water.

They have an impressive, curved bills that they use to probe mud for food items. In Louisiana they frequent crawfish farms, but in the north their main foods are smaller invertebrates.

The population is growing and they are expanding their range northward.
