Delta Waterfowl is The Duck Hunters Organization, a leading conservation group founded in 1911. We work to produce ducks through intensive management programs and conservation of breeding duck habitat. Delta’s international headquarters is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. Currently, our dedicated team consists of almost 100 employees, of which about half work within our headquarters office and the other half work remotely throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years and this is expected to continue. POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for managing and growing Delta Waterfowl’s social media presence across digital platforms. This position develops, coordinates, and publishes engaging social media content and captures photography and video content to help tell Delta’s story, engage members and hunters, and advance the organization’s mission.
The position works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to plan and develop content that strengthens Delta’s brand, expands audience reach, and supports campaigns, programs, events, and other organizational initiatives. The Coordinator also provides photography and video content support for events, field activities, campaigns, and other organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manage Delta Waterfowl’s social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, publishing, monitoring, and audience engagement.
2. Create and execute social media campaigns that increase audience engagement, reach, awareness, and support for Delta’s mission, programs, and initiatives.
3. Develop and maintain a social media content calendar in coordination with the Marketing and Communications team.
4. Identify, plan, and coordinate opportunities to capture photography and video content that support Delta’s social media, campaigns, programs, events, and other organizational priorities.
5. Capture high-quality photography and video content during field activities, conservation projects, hunting activities, events, interviews, trade shows, and other organizational initiatives.
6. Edit and produce engaging, platform-appropriate photo, video, and audio content, including short-form videos, interviews, event recaps, behind-the-scenes content, captions, basic audio editing, color correction, resizing, and other post-production needs.
7. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team, staff, field personnel, volunteers, partners, and other stakeholders to identify stories, gather content, and ensure social media and multimedia content align with Delta’s brand, voice, messaging, and strategic priorities.
8. Monitor social media trends, performance, engagement, and audience metrics and use insights to recommend improvements to content strategy, reach, engagement, and audience growth.
9. Organize, maintain, and archive photography, video, audio, and other digital media assets to ensure content is accessible and available for future organizational use.
10. Lead social media and provide photography and video support for Delta events, campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and other organizational activities, including occasional travel and field work as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Associate degree in communications, marketing, digital media, or other closely related field and at least one year of professional experience required.
2. Demonstrated experience managing or creating content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant digital channels.
3. Working knowledge of photography and videography principles and the ability to independently capture quality content using digital cameras, smartphones, and related equipment.
4. Experience editing photography and video using Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, or comparable professional editing software.
5. Ability to create engaging short-form and platform-specific digital content, including appropriate formatting, aspect ratios, captions, and other requirements for social media and digital platforms.
6. Basic knowledge of audio recording and editing techniques and the ability to use microphones, lighting, cameras, and other mobile or digital content-production equipment.
7. Strong writing, proofreading, organizational, and communication skills with attention to accuracy, brand consistency, and detail.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, content requests, and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
9. Basic understanding of social media analytics, digital audience metrics, website traffic, and related measurement tools; familiarity with Meltwater or similar platforms is preferred but not required.
10. Ability to exercise good judgment when representing Delta Waterfowl and interacting with members, supporters, volunteers, partners, the general public, and other stakeholders.
11. Ability and willingness to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
12. Ability and willingness to travel on occasion and work in outdoor and field environments to capture content.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen. The position requires dexterity in using a telephone, computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other office equipment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and navigate stairs. The employee must lift and move up to 40 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment as well as in the field (e.g., marsh, water, woods, etc.).
