Jack Paris

Bismarck, North Dakota

Delta Waterfowl welcomes Jack Paris of Bismarck, North Dakota, to its Board of Directors.

Paris, a native of Mandan, North Dakota, has built a distinguished career as a landman in the state's Bakken Formation oil fields, checking court records, negotiating oil and gas leases, and scouting properties across some of the nation's finest waterfowl habitat.

After studying regional planning at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Paris returned to North Dakota to work for oil and gas companies. With a partner, he went on to build Cody Oil and Gas Corp., a company that buys and sells oil and gas properties.

Throughout his career, Paris combined his professional work with his passion for waterfowling, often scouting in the evening and hunting ducks in the morning before heading to the courthouse for work. He started hunting at age 9 in North Dakota's prairie potholes and has since pursued waterfowl and big game across Montana, Alaska, Canada, Africa, and New Zealand.

Paris sees access as a critical challenge for hunting's future, particularly for introducing young people to the outdoors. His dedication to conservation represents a lifetime commitment to ensuring the next generation enjoys the same hunting opportunities that have defined his remarkable life and career.

His family includes Kristi, his wife of 49 years, two sons, their wives, three grandchildren and a golden retriever.
